Voice Acting Workshop
Japan Visualmedia Translation Academy: Los Angeles, CA – Date To Be AnnouncedI’m thinking of offering a Voice Acting Weekend Workshop in the Los Angeles area in May. This would be a 4 hour class limited to 10 students so everyone would get plenty of attention. This would be a class where participants would learn about acting, voice acting and specifically how to voice act for anime. It would be held at the Japan Visualmedia Translation Academy of LA, the same place I’m offering my Script Adaptation class. If you’re interested, please send an e-mail to: classes@crispinfreeman.com. If enough people are interested, I’ll fire it up!

Anime Mythology Seminar
Japan Visualmedia Translation Academy: Los Angeles, CA – May 31stPeople have often asked me to offer my Anime Mythology lectures as a course. Well here’s your chance! I’ll be performing the first in my series of Anime Mythology presentations, Giant Robots and Superheroes, at the Japan Visualmedia Translation Academy LA Branch. This will be a 2 hour event. The first hour will consist of my presentation: an elaborate, humorous and informative PowerPoint style performance. In the second hour, I’ll open it up to questions and discussion. I’m still tacking down the details, but If you’re interested, please send an e-mail to: classes@crispinfreeman.com.
University of Texas at Dallas: Dallas, TX – April 14th
I will be a guest lecturer for the Anime Studies class at the University of Texas at Dallas. The class will be taking place in the Galaxy rooms in the UTD student union. The formal title of the class is “Fantasy and Science Fiction: The Anime Fantasy of Hayao Miyazaki”. The class is taught by my friend and colleague, Professor Marc Hairston. Marc and I present annually at the academic conference, Schoolgirls and Mobilesuits. For his class at UTD, I’ll be presenting the third chapter of my Anime Mythology presentations: “Mystics, Priestesess and Warrior Women”. I’m really looking forward to it!
