“This Is A Show That Dreams Are Made Of.” – Anime News Network

ADV Films is pleased to announce the arrival of a complete thin-packed collection that will fill your quota for high flying adventure and acrobatics.  The Kaleido Star: New Wings collection will be available on September 4.

Directed by Junichi Sato (Princess Tutu, Sailor Moon), Kaleido Star is a charming animated series aimed at tweens and teens, combining playful elements of children’s anime with the sophisticated vision of Cirque du Soleil. Kaleido Star combines a sense of fun and play—such a crucial element of Sailor Moon—with a believably positive storyline that emphasizes empowerment through bravery and determination.

Synopsis:  If our little runaway Sora is ever going to become a Kaleido Star, she has to overcome some pretty tough, not to mention gorgeous, adversaries.  Sora and May give it their all, but neither is sure what will satisfy Leon.  Layla invites Sora to New York to perform, but then battles with May when she tries to steal her part.  This toughens Sora up because she may soon have to be a little ruthless herself.  But at what cost?  Should Sora just quit the Kaleido Stage and go home to her family?  Maybe that’s just what she needs to get her dreams back on track.  Much to May’s disappointment, Sora bonds with Leon and goes back to France where they run into Leon’s former trainer.  After rigorous training, she attempts to perfect the Angel’s Maneuver – one that could make or break her dream to finally become a Kaleido Star.  But can she do it?  Will Leon push her too hard?  Will her nerves get the best of her?  Or will Sora awaken everyone’s hearts and soar? Find out for yourself – watch Kaleido Star: New Wings – True Star Collection.

Kaleido Star: New Wings: True Star Collection (SRP $59.98 DVD) is a DVD-only release including containing all 26 episodes on five disks, presented in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles.  Extras include previews of upcoming ADV Films releases.
