Toei’s Spider-Man TV series is online
Marvel.com is bringing the campy — even campier than the Lupin live-action film — ’70s classic series Spider-Man to computer monitors everywhere for free.
Produced by Toei Company in the late 1970s, the series follows the exploits of motorcycle racer turned super hero Takuya Yamashiro (not Peter Parker), as he slings and swings, battling the evil Iron Cross Army along the way. No, it’s not the Spider-Man most fans are used to, but it’s fun, frantic and FREE. Watch the first episode below and come back every Thursday for more Spidey action!
If you’ve never seen or heard of this — which is next to impossible if you’ve ever been to a comic, sci-fi, or anime convention — then you’re in for some fun times, web swinging action, and the occasional need for a big robot.
